Sponsors get behind inaugural South West Digital Awards

Creative branding agency LOGO has become the latest sponsor of the recently launched South West Digital Awards.

Plymouth-based LOGO will sponsor the Branding in a Digital Environment category, which will champion teams that have created stand-out digital branding for clients or themselves.

The agency, which has worked with clients such as Dartmoor Distillery, the Sugar Association of London and Magic Hana London nail brand, is the second sponsor to line up behind the inaugural awards, joining Plymouth University, which will sponsor of Young Innovator category.

Free to enter, the South West Digital Awards will be held in May 2018 in Plymouth’s historic and revitalised Royal William Yard. They aim to attract entries from all over the region from Cornwall up to Gloucestershire.

LOGO managing director Nick Burrage said: “It’s really important to us that the rest of the country gets a sense of the talent and possibilities that the South West offers.

“LOGO understands the region’s digital landscape, with many being surprised at the level of international work undertaken by the South West-based agency. We have to fight our corner down here and keep promoting the area and what we do.”

The awards have 12 categories, including healthcare and use of digital by charities.

Organiser Plymouth-based Helm Squared, the parent company of ticketing platform Origin Tickets, is offering 10 free spaces at the awards ceremony as part of a ‘Play Zone’ where South West-based start-ups working on engaging and interactive projects in gaming, virtual reality and more can exhibit.

Also, the standard keynote speech will be replaced by a live panel during which guests will be able to interact through social media with business and digital experts from the region and beyond to discuss topics such as attracting investment outside of London.

Plymouth was also recently included in 2017’s Tech City report for the first time, joining the ranks of other Tech Nation-recognised South West hubs including Bristol & Bath, Bournemouth & Poole, Exeter, Truro & Redruth.

Nominations are open now at helmsquared.com/awards and tickets for the awards will go on sale shortly at southwestdigitalawards.co.uk.
